The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) recognises that the continuing education of our Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAME's) is a critical element to a safe, dynamic and prosperous aviation industry. To emphasise the importance of the continuing education of people in the regional aviation industry we have arranged partnership with member organisations to award scholarships to advance the knowledge of current LAME's.

  


Overview

    Currently their are 2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME)/technical scholarship available through the RAAA. This is the:

    • RAAA Hawker Pacific Scholarship

    • RAAA Lufthansa Technik Aero Alzey Scholarship



RAAA Hawker Pacific Avionics Scholarship

Awarded annually and funded by Hawker Pacific with a value of $5,000 it is intended that one (1) scholarship will be awarded as encouragement to the continuing education of a promising Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Engineer:

  • apprentice who is enrolled in their 3rd year or above of their avionics apprenticeship, or

  • recently qualified as an avionics engineer that has completed their apprentership/training in the last 2 years.

Funds are to be used to assist the recipient attend the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) International Convention and Trade Show held in the USA.

Maintenance + Overhaul Scholarship

Awarded every second year and funded by Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey it is intended that one (1) scholarship will be awarded as encouragement to the continuing education of a current Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/Technician who has demonstrated a commitment to the Australian aviation industry. Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey will provide the scholarship winner 14 days of either CF34 or PW100 engine orientation training. Additionally, Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey will also cover the international travel and accommodation costs of the scholarship recipient to undertake the training in Germany.

Selection Criteria

    All applications will be judged by a panel comprising senior members of the RAAA and the scholarship sponsors. The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
