The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) is aware that the cost associated to
entering the aviation industry can be a burden to students
and apprentices. To enphasise the importance of new technical
people entering the regional aviation industry we have arranged
partnerships with member organisations to award scholarships to
individuals meeting the critera to assist them completing their
studies.

Overview
Jeppesen Scholarship
Funded by Jeppesen Australia, the Scholarship is valued at $2,500,
and is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education
of promising young Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Engineers. Funds will be
made available in mid year and may be used to assist with meeting
the cost of studies, books and materials, or for accommodation
and travel expenses directly related to attending the course.

Michelin Scholarship
Funded by Michelin Australia, the Scholarship is valued at $2,500,
and is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education
of promising young Aircraft Maintenance (Airframe) Engineers. Funds will be
made available mid year and may be used to assist with meeting
the cost of studies, books and materials, or for accommodation
and travel expenses directly related to attending the course.

Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for scholarships include, but are not
limited to, the following:
- Applicants must be in their second year of studies in the year the scholarship is awarded
- Applicants must be gainfully employed in the aviation industry in their application field
- Academic progress
- Course attendance
- Progress in and contribution to the work place
- Special awards or achievements
- The benefits offered by receiving scholarship assistance
All applications will be judged by a panel comprising senior
members of the RAAA, Jeppesen Australia, and Michelin Australia.
The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will
be entered into.
It is a condition of the Scholarship that the successful
applicants provides a report to the RAAA at the completion of the
Scholarship. This report is to include details of how the awarded
funds were used in support of his/her education and training.
