Australian Wings Academy
Australian Wings Academy (AWA) is a professional Pilot Training Academy specialising in flight training for Airline cadets and Self sponsired Commercial Pilots. The Academy was formed in 1980 as the Gold Coast Aviation Centre.
AWA is a registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) provider by the Australian Government. These accreditation allows AWA to train international students.
AWA offers training for a Commercial Pilots Licence and Command Instrument Rating. Our Diploma In Aviation course includes the CASA Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) and a Command Instrument Rating - Multi Engine (CIR-ME). The Diploma syllabus is specifically tailored to getting international students "airline ready" for the right hand seat of a commercial multi-crew transport aircraft.
The Australian Wings Academy has a purpose built training facility incorporating class rooms, briefing rooms, state of the art simulator, flight planning room and administrative facilities located at the Coolangatta International Airport on the Gold Coast. AWA is also developing a second base in Gunnedah NSW with full resident campus.
Australian Wings Academy is focused on turning out the best qualified pilots in Queensland - good enough to make it in any airline in the world. Currently AWA trains 120 students per annum. These students come from the Middle East, India, Asia, Vanuatu and New Zealand.
